JULIE PROSCIA
JULIE PROSCIA has successfully represented employers in federal, state and administrative venues. Ms. Proscia concentrates her practice in employment litigation and the pitfalls and legal quagmire that human resource professionals face on a daily basis. Ms. Proscia also actively assists employers in labor matters and conducts negotiations and defends employers at the Illinois Labor Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board. She has an extensive background in employment law and human resource related issues. Prior to joining Wessels Pautsch & Sherman P.C., Ms. Proscia was housed in the Human Resources Department of Northern Illinois University as the Assistant Director of Affirmative Action and Legal Compliance. In this capacity, she conducted numerous internal investigations, reviewed policies and procedures for legal compliance and developed training programs aimed at preventing employment litigation and liability. Ms. Proscia's experience with employment law began prior to her position at Northern Illinois University. During law school she worked in the litigation division of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Prior to the EEOC, Ms. Proscia worked at the United States Department of Agriculture where she served on internal EEO commission for two years. Ms. Proscia has also had the privilege of externing for Magistrate Judge P. Michael Mahoney, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
