The Illinois Chamber has once again contracted with Wessels Sherman to author and edit several publications to help employers throughout the State to understand and comply with ever changing workplace laws.

Since the 2007 publication of Wessels Sherman' acclaimed EMPLOYMENT LAW HANDBOOK (a comprehensive reference guide covering both federal and Illinois employment and labor laws), Wessels Sherman is currently finalizing several additional publications scheduled to be released in 2009. The first to be released will be ILLINOIS EMPLOYMENT FORMS, which will offer employers a plethora of common workplace forms necessary for all stages of the employment relationship. The second publication to be released will be MODEL EMPLOYMENT POLICIES FOR ILLINOIS EMPLOYERS, providing samples upon samples of recommended policies that any employer should publish and implement. Finally, the third publication will consist of a comprehensive guide covering HIRING TO FIRING designed to provide employers with a practical map around the legal pitfalls common with such topics.

Wessels Sherman has a unique perspective in labor and employment law since we work closely with the Illinois Chamber in its lobbying and advocacy efforts on behalf of Illinois businesses. Therefore, we have an intimate knowledge of the true intention behind the onslaught of new labor and employment laws recently enacted.
