The new amendment was signed by the President on 12/21/09 and extends the assistance to employees who lose health care coverage due to involuntary separation occurring through February 28, 2010. Moreover, the amendment increases this assistance for all who have qualified, from 9 months to up to 15 months. Employers' obligations and procedures otherwise remain the same as under the existing Act.
